I chose this series after a poll and discussions with my team and several friends. These are mostly available at both of my libraries, in both ebook and audio formats. Some of the other series I considered were less available at libraries, not available on audiobook, or I had less relationships with their publishers.
You will have a 3-4 weeks to read each book. There will be games, discussion, prizes, reviews and fun with each book. The prizes will include digital books from Amazon, so that is open to anyone who has an email and can receive an ebook from Amazon. They can be read on a computer, smartphone or Kindle. There will also be audiobooks, and paperbacks through Book Depository.
Here’s your to-do list:
- Find your copies of these books, borrow them from a friend, get them at the library or buy them.
- Read Book 1, Slave to Sensation, by January 1.
- Make note of a favorite quote or two as you read the book.
- If you haven’t read the books before, make a list of questions you have for the discussion. If you have read them, please don’t spoil new readers.
- Comment here and let me know if you have read them before or if you are starting on a new adventure with me.
- Link up your review on Goodreads or your site to the post.
- Join the COYER book chat on the Sunday following the post.
- Enter the giveaways!

I’ve only read the paper versions of this series. Would love to win the audio versions.
As usual in a new-to-me Read-along year I’ve only read the first book in the series, as an ebook. I find it easier to highlight quotes and make notes in an ebook so that’s probably how I will go. I like to read and reread on audio but it’s harder to take notes. I hope you will join us.
Enjoy! I’m hoping I can catch up along the way.
That’s great! We’d love to have you join us.
Pretty exciting! I’m hoping to combine this with Library Love challenge by listening to the series on audio through the library. 🙂
Sounds perfect. I’ll probably read ebooks just because it is easier to take notes and highlight quotes but I will utilize library books also.
One of my favorite series to listen and/or read. I love borrowing the audios from my library. Great Urban Fantasy and PNR!
I hope so! I’ll be reading it all year.
I’m really looking forward to the read-along this year. I just finished the first book and really enjoyed it. Thanks for organizing and letting COYER be a part of it!
I’m thrilled COYER wants to join in on the Read-along. I like the idea of tackling a new series as a great big buddy read. I alternate between new and rereads. So when it is new, it is more of a risk for me as what if I don’t like it. So I do usually read the first book to get an idea. There are a couple series, which lots of people love, that I just don’t like at all.
My lovely friend and writing buddy is getting back into this series and was signing its praises on Friday night. I must let her know about this:)).
Please invite her to join us! I try not to have too demanding a pace. With 15 books I had to do some in 3 weeks though. You’re welcome to join us also.
This is a series that I know I should read but never seem to find the time for it. I only have the first book but I am not sure if I have time to read it before January 1. Awesome giveaway!
Well it is up to you. I’d would LOVE to have you along. Maybe you could catch up later? I did announce the Read-alongs planned for upcoming years in a Sunday post so people can plan ahead more.
Yay I’m excited for this read-along! I think I’ll re-read the first book and then read the 2nd book again before I write up my review. Loved it, though! I forget how much I love Nalini Singh sometimes. I’ll come back and look at this post more in depth for all the rules.
I tried not to make many rules. Mostly it is fun and discussion and prizes. I am so happy you are joining me.
I can’t wait to spend time reading these books for the first time with my friends!!
Yes there is something about a big buddy read like this. I enjoyed it when it was a re-read (Kate Daniels, Mercy Thompson) and I enjoyed it when I did new series for me (The Hollows, Alex Verus). I’ve had such good luck in choices and this is a series I have always wanted to read. I’m so glad you are joining me.
I think I’m actually going to re-read the whole series, Anne. Nalini Singh is a master, and I love that series 🙂
That would be awesome. I’d love to have you along with questions and observations and sharing favorite quotes. It’s all new to me though.
I absolutely LOVE this series! Nalini Singh is one of my very favorite authors! I’ve read/reread the books many times! I found the Guild Hunter series first, fell head over heels then discovered her Psy-Changeling series. So good!
It’s a new to me series so I’m glad to hear it. I hope you will join in on the comments and even the facebook chats as we go along!
I’m joining in. This is my first time reading the series.
That’s excellent – I’m so happy! I like other new to series readers to be wondering things asking questions and observing things besides me. I hope you enjoy it.
Hi! I’d love to participate on a review, maybe the May 7? My website is http://mythandmagicbookclub.com
Jill I would love to have you but we have a full set of volunteers already – shockingly. (It will be listed on this Friday’s post for Vision of Heat.) Thank you so much for offering. I hope you will still Read-along with us, participate in the giveaways and maybe even facebook chats and you can certainly link up any reviews you do so everyone can hear your thoughts and check out your blog.
No problem! I’ll definitely checkout the read-along!
