This is a new feature I developed where each month we will look at our favorite – the best – series in a genre or topic.
The topic here, by my definition, is a series with main characters who are K9 handlers. This is the third round of series in this theme as it is a favorite of mine and I am always trying to find more. These are the ones which came to mind. I enjoyed some more than others.

Since I haven’t read everything, it’s a subset of the possibilities. I’m sure I am forgetting some great authors. There are also plenty of authors I have yet to read. Please share your favorites with me in the comments, also.

I read all types of books but my favorites are urban fantasy and romantic suspense.I like some romance and some action / adventure / mystery in everything.I like sex in my books but please, only between TWO people.Intimate conversation is equally important to the sex in a book.It lets me see the characters.The other thing I enjoy is humor.

I just really enjoy K-9 stories and the more dog training and work the better. If there is a mystery or romance that’s ok but I must have the dog!

Well it’s the third round of books I have found so I have to keep searching. I’ve “found” all the older, or longer series or traditionally published ones in earlier rounds mostly. But I keep looking.
There are so many good mysteries and romances with K-9 co-stars. I’m only familiar with some through your reviews and have added a few to my wish list 🙂

Well Naida, if you are interested you have plenty of options. The Sandra Owens ones are set in the Blue Ridge area.

You’re welcome. It’s one of my favorite types of stories, hence I’ve done 3 rounds of recs.
I don’t know that I’ve ever read a series with a focus on dogs, unless you count The Iron Druid. LOL!! But since I don’t tend to read suspense or military, that’s probably why.
Well some of these are romantic suspense but many others are police or search and rescue teams with a romance side. Some are about dog training facilities / teams and rescues or shelters. I think you would like some of them.

There are sometimes puppies but more full grown trained dogs.
