The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.  Trapped giveaway ends tonight!

Sunday, I got going pretty early and did my blog visiting. It was rainy and thunderstormy in the afternoon so not as hot.  I tried to look up some stuff for what would be Prime Day deals without too much success.  My daughter and I looked at the clearance items at Lands End plus an extra gift card and ordered a few tops and tanks.  I loved the FB Chat on Trapped by Kevin Hearne for the Read-along.  It was so great to see people!  The swan family is growing up. I need to get out more and see them.

Monday, another busy day with two medical appts for my daughter. I got up a bit late but still got things going and then got the lawn mowed and trimmed. I just had time to shower again before we headed off for my daughter’s chiro appt. I did returns at Home Depot and picked up a couple items at Aldi.  Then I answered comments on the blog, before getting out to work on the drilling again. It turns out the practice piece I had has particle board in it and the glue in that is what smokes and may catch on fire.  The predrilled holes are in the perfect placement.  But the 1 inch screws are too short and the 2 inch screws are too long.  The 2 inch ones have markings for making them shorter so I will have to figure out how to do that or go to the store and buy 12 that are the right length.

Tuesday,  started the morning with a webinar learning about Medicare.  Then we went to walk the dogs which I’m still doing the longer walk with Abbey & Lulu while my daughter goes shorter with Kayla since she isn’t feeling great.  We did see results from the doctor and she has prescribed an antibiotic to get rid of bad gut bacteria.  The pharmacy record shows it will be in tomorrow around noon and cost $0.  I tried to snap off the screw end. It bends but I can’t get it to snap off.  Then I went down the rabbit hole looking at Prime Day deals.

Wednesday, I was glad to find it wasn’t as hot as I expected when I walked Abbey & Lulu.  My daughter walked Kayla.  Then she had a medical appt.  I finished up writing a couple reviews.  Then it was off to Lowes on an errand. I did my return and then went to find screws in the right size.  I found out how to match the diameter. They did have small packets (6) of the size I needed only 1 and I needed 2, so I bought the 75 pack for a few dollars more. I tried them on the one I already drilled and they are the right thing.   I finished up a few more reviews before dinner.

Thursday,  another hot day but the walk was not intolerable. I did my computer stuff, a couple phone calls.  Then I went to do more drilling in my bathroom.  It is hard. The drill always smokes and leaves a pile of black sawdust.  I watered even though it is supposed to rain. I picked tomatoes and cherry tomatoes. My daughter picked basil which we used to make pesto for dinner.

Friday, I was awakened by thunderstorms and they continued off and on during the day.  I had thyme and cherry tomatoes from the garden in my scrambled eggs.   Finally my daughter’s medicine came in mid afternoon and I went to pick it up.  We weren’t eating dinner so I went to Lowe’s to get a new drill bit and shorter bolts.  The shorter bolts were too short.

Saturday,  after the usual computer visiting.  I went into my facebook and left a bunch of groups that have been inactive for 2 years or more.  Lulu is relaxing under my desk. You can see her pile of toys behind her bed. My daughter wanted some yarn to knit a scarf for her friend.  I found one that could work.  I did the last door and another drawer before dinner.

Survey

I really, really would love it if you haven’t taken my social media survey that you would. It’s a quick 2-3 minutes, mostly multiple choice with a few open ended questions at the end.  I got more responses last time using Survey Monkey but it only lets you see 10 answers, Alchemer will let me see 100.    Go HERE

I’m going to share the results when I get a few more responses, Alchemer has great graphs as well as the ability to look at the individual responses (anonymous).

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by  Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

Thanks so much to Elizabeth Hunter, William Morrow,  and Berkley (3).

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

I used my NoRush shipping rewards to buy this novella between the series ($2.99).

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

Those thyme and cherry tomato scrambled eggs sound amazing! And I love being woken up by (or falling asleep to) thunder. It sounds like you had a productive week! Your new books look great, ‘There Should Have Been Eight’ sounds really interesting! I hope you have a good week 🙂

  2. Thyme and cherry tomatoes in scrambled eggs is delicious! Also I do read that there is heat pretty everywhere these days, more than previous summers many years ago. I guess we don’t do any favor to our climate…

  3. I’m looking forward to The Twelve Dogs of Christmas too! Here in Vancouver our grass goes dormant over the summer so we don’t have to cut it. I hope you have a great week and your daughter feels better with the antibiotic.

  4. I almost grabbed the Karen Rose book, but her books are SO LONG and I am finding I don’t always have the patience any more. I think I have adult ADHD. Good luck with the survey!

  5. Answered your survey. I didn’t know you had one. Not sure if you did a post or shootout on it, but if you did I missed if not maybe share it on social media to get more people to answer. Great book haul this week. I also picked up Lost in Limbo. I read the first book and liked it, but it’s not in KU nor does my library have the books, so I’d have to buy them to read on and I do want to, but I’ve got so many books ^_^. I also picked up Yasmine’s book. I really like that series. I’ve read up-to book 4 and then of course as always I get distracted and haven’t been back to it nor have I written reviews on them. I’m so bad about reviews these days. Hope you have a great week. Mine is going to be busy. RL is crazy atm.

    • Thank you so much Angela. It’s ok to be busy with a variety of things. I collect freebies as they become available. I haven’t started Yasmine’s series but I’ve collected 3 or 4 of them so far as freebies. I have the same problem with starting series and not getting to go farther. I have a long list of those. I’m working on a solution for myself. I posted the survey in last week’s Sunday post and I did share to Twitter, Insta, Mastodon and Facebook! I will probably share again since I must have shared it at the wrong time before. lol

  6. I had fun on the read-along chat too! Tomatoes and fresh thyme in scrambled eggs sounds delicious. I’d probably add a bit of cheddar cheese too! Might have to try that. Glad to hear your daughter is getting meds so hopefully she’ll feel better. The swans are beautiful and Lulu looks so cute sleeping on her bed.

I enjoyed that Rockton/Haven’s Rock novella. I got it free because I purchased a hard copy of Haven’s Rock. I also got a copy of Beneath Dark Waters. I always end up purchasing the audio to those books as well.

  7. Way to go getting your errands, chores and longer walks in between heat and t-storms. Kudos for working out your cabinet handle project screws and drilling. I got more deals that I needed this Prime Day than any I’ve shopped in the past. Just worked out that way for once. 🙂 I snagged that between Rockton novella with credits, too. Hope the new meds relieve your daughter’s illness.

    Have a great week, Anne!

  8. I liked your survey. And I’ve got some tomatoes and peppers planted- better than last year!- but the squirrels are being rather annoying.

Neill’s book looks fun. I always thought that series looked good.

  9. I just put some tomato, spinach and mushroom in my scrambled eggs this morning. I looked at some of the Prime day deals but nothing caught my eye that I needed or wanted.

  10. Sounds like you had another busy week! When we are working on something in the house, it seems like we are hitting the hardware store every day. We are trying not to spend money so I didn’t even check out the prime day deals. Nice new reads. I hope that you have a fantastic week!

  11. I spent a lot of time looking at Prime Day deals, but ended up only getting a new portable charger and a new vacuum – and love both purchases! My daughter got some clothes, but they don’t get delivered until tomorrow.

My week was pretty good, we went on a college visit at the beginning of the week, I got my hair done, got a pedicure, and went to the dentist. Good week!

  12. My neighbor just brought me a bunch of cherry tomatoes. I had never thought to put them in scrambled eggs with herbs. That sounds delicious! Twelve Dogs of Christmas looks fun! Have a wonderful week!

  13. I love eating from the garden in the summertime. We don’t quite have anything ready yet here though, just basil. And some big tomatoes but they are still green. Hopefully soon for those!

    Have a good week!

  14. I need The 12 Dogs of Christmas. Really looks like a book for me right? I hate home projects. Hubby and I always end up disgruntled with each other because we have two different personality types when it comes to doing things. I really hope the medication helps your daughter. We’ve had a few storms but nothing too bad. However the humid and the smoke from Canada are killing my sinuses!
