The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.
Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar. Scourged giveaway ends tonight!!
Sunday, a busy day with blog visiting. The weather was warm and humid. I managed a short walk for Lulu. Then I had the chat for Scourged and then for COYER book club. I worked more in the office after dinner because I feel so behind on tasks.
Monday, I tried to get a handle to finish a few big tasks. I had some success but always want to do more. I laundered all the rugs in my daughter’s bathroom and Swiffer disinfected the floor after vacuuming. I couldn’t stand her not doing it anymore. I made good progress on hanging the shelf. I talked to the admissions counselor at her college and got a few more things finished. Lulu and I managed a short walk. The African violets and Christmas cactus are blooming, now if I could figure help the orchid.
Tuesday, I went to bed late and work up early. I walked the Kayla, Abby and Lulu. I’m working to get everything done so I can just relax more for a few weeks. I did almost all my 2024 blog ahead stuff this afternoon setting up Sunday posts, Sunday month end posts, Thrifty Thursday posts, Series on Saturday posts and the first Read-along set of posts. I still need to work on Library Love posts, which could have been done anytime after August when we decided stuff. UGH. I talked again to SNHU about my daughter’s classes and sent in more forms.
Wednesday, it was rather chilly today. I walked all the dogs. Today is eat the leftovers. Also do all the laundry. I went online and signed up for our healthcare for 2024. Then I did write some reviews. I got an email from dlvr.it that they will auto share to Bluesky. The free version only lets you choose 2 social so I would have to drop one to do Bluesky. I’ll have to think about it.
Thursday, today we are traveling to Atlanta GA. I was able to listen to a whole audiobook. It went pretty well. We got takeout dinner and we didn’t like it. So then we tried a gluten free pizza from Papa John’s which was ok. Lulu slept with me and really she prefers to sleep ON me.
Friday, My computer screen stopped working, so I am now using my daughter’s computer. I learned how to create a second Chrome profile on one computer. My daughter opted for some cuddle time after breakfast. We went to the Atlanta Zoo, then a restaurant and bakery that is dedicated gluten free. The zoo was really lovely; it’s a nice size and has a good selection of animals. We saw the pandas. There are 4 of them, a mom, a dad and twin children who are old enough now to also be solitary. The restaurant bakery food was fabulous.
Saturday, now we are on the way home.
Of course I am going to do COYER Unwind, all four Chapters. I imagine I will again read and review on the blog about 100 books at least. The Read-along chats are tagging along with COYER again. And the Library Love Bingo has a special opening for COYER in July and August. I’m a fan of the #SIAM reading a Series in a Month because I have so many I want to read.
If you want to read all the sign up details, you can do that HERE.
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Reading Reality. These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):
All my thanks to Penguin Audio, Tantor Audio, Ace, William Morrow, Berkley Publishing,
(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)
I purchased this one with No Rush Shipping Rewards.
Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.
I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.
I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

I’m going to have to go over to dlvrit and see if I can hook up my Bluesky account, I didn’t know you could do that. Your blooming flowers look lovely, good luck with the orchid!
They just got the ability to go to bluesky Tammy and I think dlvr.it is the easiest to use and works well.
I hope your computer screen will work again Anne! Computer problems are the worst!
I don’t think that screen will work again but luckily I have a warranty.
Atlanta sounded fun! I’m glad you guys had a nice time. Hopefully your computer is an easy fix!
Atlanta was easier than I thought. The zoo and food went really well except for that one taco place. I don’t think the screen is an easy fix but I have a warranty so it won’t cost anything unless they can’t fix it. The computer was $1000 and only 2 years old. If they can’t fix it they send a gift card for that amount to buy a new one. That’s what happened with my daughter’s computer. I have a backup computer which will be fine until the fix is done. I hope they don’t wipe the hard drive though.
Sounds like a pretty good week overall! I love how you do all the blogging ahead, I should try to do that more than I already do. Right now the best I do is getting started on my weekly wrap-up at the beginning of the week and adding to it each day, and then starting a monthly wrap-up about a week ahead as well. Hope you have a good week!
Thanks Lisa. I like to do the basic setup in advance, all the memes and I create a post for an ARC when I get the ARC. So I stay on top of things pretty easily.
It’s so hard to keep ahead on everything, but you’re doing a great job on staying current and getting a little ahead with posts/reviews. Neat that you got to go on a trip and see the cute panda family at the Atlanta zoo. Bummer about your screen. Maybe, they’ll do a replacement if it hasn’t been that long. Fun pic of Lulu snuggling with your daughter.
Nice haul. I snagged a couple of those freebies, too. I’m in for COYER again. Fun times!
Have a good week, Anne!
Thank you Sophia. The way the warranty works if they can’t repair it they refund the whole cost of the item I think. At least that is the way it worked with the same warranty for my daughter’s computer. It’s only 2.5 years old. I really liked the zoo. Lots of animals but a reasonable amount of walking to see them.
I remember you told me about dlvr.it, so I should look into it, especially since they do Bluesky. I would use it for Bluesky and Threads, if it has it.
Sounds like a good time away – despite some mediocre food. I have been dealing with some non-emergency health stuff, but got medicine last Tuesday and now, almost a week later, am doing a lot better!
I’m glad you are doing better. dlvr.it does not do Threads. It does Mastodon or Facebook or Instagram if you want auto share to one of those, in addition to Bluesky.
You had a busy week, too! Atlanta and the trip to the zoo sounded nice! I usually like all the gardens in zoos as well as the animals. Your African Violets are doing so nicely!
I wish I was more ahead. I’m behind right now thanks to last minute trips and work. I hope to have an easier week this week. We’ll see.
Thanks Rachel. I love having plants. I feel behind now we are back although I had reviews for this week ready to go before I left. The zoo was great. We really like going to zoos.
Computer problems are so frustrating. I hope yours get fixed! I used to have a dog that preferred to sleep on top of me. She was 30 pounds, so it wasn’t a comfortable experience.
Thanks AJ I have the backup computer. Since I have a warranty they either fix it or buy it. She slept on my arm one night and the arm was weird when I woke up.
I wish that I was that far ahead with the blog. I am such a procrastinator! I hope you can figure out your computer issues without too much trouble. Your African violets look great…mine looks dead. Nice that you were able to enjoy a trip. Have a great week!
Thank you Carole. It was fun to go to the zoo. The dedicated GH restaurant bakery had amazing food. Mediterranea. It is only about 2 blocks from the zoo. I am unconcerned because I have a warranty on the computer. I’m using my backup computer which is fine in the meantime. It’s the second failure on my regular newer computer this year. This older, 4 year old one has had no failures and is out of warranty now I think.
Sounds like you had a nice trip to Atlanta! The zoo sounds nice.
I need to get Emily Wilde’s books, her Encyclopedia of Faeries is one I really ant to get!
The zoo was great. I am listening to the first Emily Wilde book this week. 🙂
Sound like you been busy with getting stuff done.
Have a great week,
Thank you. I felt ahead until we took the weekend off.
Yayy for xmas freebie!
I’m glad to get around to any of my freebies.
I had forgotten – my Grandmother used to have a HUGE shelf of African Violets when I was a kid and I always loved them. Good memories. Glad you enjoyed your trip!!
yes my grandma had them I tried to grow African violets about 20 years ago with no success. Maybe the varieties have improved or you just have to be older to grow them. lol
I love zoos but somehow I’ve never been to the one in Atlanta though it isn’t that far away. I did love seeing the pandas in Memphis though. My husband has a gift for African violets and I’m so glad he does as they’re so pretty! Yours are gorgeous! I hope you’re having a wonderful week.
Thank you Katherine. We love zoos. The Atlanta one is nice having a good group of exhibits but without terrible amounts of walking. or hills. Are the pandas still in Memphis? I thought they were all going back to China in the next year or so.
I love technology but when it doesn’t work it’s very frustrating. I hope you’re having a great week Anne.
Thank you Jodie. I agree 100%. Every time I make progress or get ahead something fails on me it seems.
