The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.
Stacking The Shelves is also a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Marlene from Reading Reality. It’s all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!
Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.
Sunday, nice weather and the usual blog hopping. With the ex arriving late, we grilled steaks and had garden broccoli. Monday was off with lots of discussions about projects. The temperature had dropped a lot, so it felt cold. I got a Food Lion Instacart. We had chicken pad thai from the neighborhood chef. I baked chocolate chip cookies.
Tuesday, it rained as expected. I slept well the last couple nights, but overnight I woke up a bit with pain. I was sleeping with my hip muscles opened. So I felt pretty good when I got up. My PCP referred me to physical therapy but the earliest appt is April 16, and I hope this is over by then!
Wednesday was not a good night and not a good pain day. But we did get to the clinic and get our first dose of Pfizer COVID vaccine. It was quick and easy. I was listening to my audio on the way there and back. I rested briefly before fixing dinner, then wrote a review and organized for tomorrow before bed. I’m sleepy but completely fine, no pain from the shot.
Thursday, no injection pain at all. But it would have to compete with the hip pain which is better today. I slept well. I got a Sprouts Instacart. I did some catchup since I didn’t spend time at the computer yesterday. I did update my challenge linkys for the first half of the month.
Friday, another medium pain day. I slept in 2 shifts. I finally made our dentist appts for April after we are fully vaccinated. We had crab cakes from the neighborhood chef with broccoli from the garden.
Saturday, I stayed up too late reading and then slept in 3 shifts although the first was 6 hours. The pain was so bad I had to lay down again twice with heat and stretches and about an hour nap each time. After that it was ok, so I got going. Overall I am trying to do more and it feels like I had more pain this week. But that could be because I am frustrated.
I did my usual computer stuff with setting up and writing reviews, visiting blogs, etc. I went off on a tangent looking at products and entering giveaways at the Gluten Free Festival. I’m excited for the FB chat tomorrow of Mine to Possess as it’s my favorite Psy-Changeling book so far. This week the weather should get warmer as we go along into the 60s-70s (20C+) but some rain later in the week. I hope to get spring plants in this week.
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality. These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):
My grateful thanks to Brilliance Audio, Stackpole Books, and Berkley Romance.

I grabbed this Ilona Andrew’s book on a $1.99 deal. I picked my Amazon first read for the month.
Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.
I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.
I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.
Does anybody know how long wireless earbuds hold a charge after they are charged but not been used?
Anne
Congrats on that Covid-19 vaccination!!! It’s so good that you’re halfway there. I’m so sorry you’re still experiencing pain and I’m pulling for you to get relief.
I got Win, too, and am so excited about it. I’m a big Myron Bolitar fan and can’t wait to start, maybe next week.
Have a great week, Anne?
Thank you Jonetta! It’s a relief. I love all the Coben books but I have a couple Myron ones to catch up that have come out more recently. But it’s so exciting to get more about Win.
Yay on your vaccine!! My husband got his first yesterday, Pfizer, and I go tomorrow. I am excited and nervous.
I am sorry to hear that you are still in so much pain though. 🙁
Thank you. The vaccine was just so quick and easy, no side effects. I hope it goes well for you.
I went with my dad to get his vaccine yesterday. We didn’t even have to get out of the car. It was awesome. I hope you have a great week!
Yes I loved the drive thru – that’s what we did which was best for me with my hip pain struggles. They were doing a great job at our clinic.
I’m sorry your hip is bothering you so much! I hope you figure something out to help <3 Also, why stop with the free books?! They're free! I download any free book I'm even mildly interested in lol Happy reading!
Thank you Molly. I agree, since they are free I just keep them. I did add an SD card to my Kindle for more storage but I could leave them in the cloud and download them later too. I’m shocked how I find things I got free, even years ago, and now the author is well known or it’s the start of a series I really want to read.
I’m glad you got your first vaccine ? Good luck this week with your hip, sorry it’s worse than normal.
Thank you Tammy. I’m glad to have the vaccine organized, now I just hope the non-mask, non-vax idiots don’t lead to a huge rise in variants. Today is a better day on the hip pain, but yes, overall this week seemed worse.
Sorry to hear you are still having such hip pain. It sucks that you can’t start PT until April 16th. Did you have a cortisone shot? My mom swore by those before she had to have her hip replaced. Congrats on getting your vaccine!
Thanks Samantha. I am glad to have the vaccine. They haven’t recommended anything but massage, rest and exercises for the hip pain. So no, I haven’t had cortisone.
That’s great you got the 1st does. I hope your hip is better. Enjoy your books, I like Nancy Warren’s writing.
Thank you. I’m glad to be started on the vaccine. I hope I can get to some of those freebies. I haven’t tried Nancy Warren but I think I have one of those vampire knitting books too and I’m a knitter so I’d like to try it too.
All that pain reminds me of what I went through years ago, and while I still have some pain nowadays, nothing like I once had. Hang in there!
Enjoy your reading and your books, and here are my WEEKLY UPDATES
Thank you. It’s just weird as I don’t know exactly how I injured it and I’ve never had this type of pain. Usually I’m quite active and now I’m like a potato who stays in one place.
Just keep after it, Anne. It seems like even though you continue to have pain, that maybe there are more good days/moments that even a month ago? Glad you guys got your vaccine. My state (NH) opens registration tomorrow for my grouping, with appointments starting a week after. We’ll see how quickly I can schedule.
Thanks Jen. I thought this week was worse, but maybe just because I wanted to do more. Keep after them on vaccine appts. I checked daily because things change quickly, even if they tell you there won’t be appts until Monday or something. My group opened up the 17th and I scheduled my vaccine for that day. I really wanted to get it handled so we can do other appts like the dentist with less worry.
Yay, you got your first part of the vaccine! On the other hand I am very sorry that your pain isn ´ t getting any better. What in the world is causing it?! Hang in there and happy reading.
Thank you Vi! I wish I knew what to do about the pain. At least I’ve found some things which make it better and that’s all I’ve got for now. It will be good to be fully vaccinated in a few weeks if I am out for appts like the PT.
That’s great you got the 1st part of the vaccine. Sorry to hear you’re still having pain. Never fun. Nice book haul this week. I also picked up Fate’s Edge on sale. I’ve got all the paperbacks, but not in eCopy yet, so completing that when they pop up for sale. Love a good sale. Have a great week!
Thank you Angela! I read everything Ilona Andrews on paperback from the library initially. But then I started buying them on ebook. I have this whole series on audio, but got the ebook since it was a deal.
It seems like your week was a bit up and down,
I hope you enjoy the FB chat
Wishing you a great reading week, and warmer weather
Thanks Shelleyrae. It looks like you got a lot of great new books to read. I hope your weather settles down.
That is fabulous that you got your first shot and it went well. Those neighborhood chef dinners sound delicious. Glad your ex got in safely and you can plan some projects. Feel badly that your pain is still constant, but glad you are still able to get about. I got Isn’t It Bromantic, too.
Have a great week, Anne!
Thank you Sophia. I just do the best I can. At least the ex is doing projects so I can feel like things are getting handled.
I really hope that the pain will leave you soon Anne! That must be exhausting
Yes it is exhausting. At least I have some things which make it better now and I have some help.
Sorry to hear you’re still having issues with pain! Glad to hear you got your first shot and there were no bad side effects! Yay!
I’m looking forward to the Russian’s story in the Bromance books! I need to download a copy.
Thank you Rachel! I’ve got some things which I can do to help lessen the pain which seem to work, plus I’ve got some project help. I’m so glad to have the vaccine.
You had many books to read. They look nice!
Good lcuk for everything, take care.
Thank you! I’m always grateful to get so many wonderful books.
Yay for getting your first shot! But boo for the hip pain! It sounds like you had a pretty busy week. I cannot wait to see what you think of Win! I love Harlan Coben’s books and Win has been a favorite character for a very long time. Have a great week!
Thanks Carole. I am excited for Win but it will be out a couple weeks sadly. I’ve always loved his character
Yay! Glad you got that first shot! Your meals sound delicious. Garden Broccoli, how fortunate to have broccoli in the back yard! Hope you have less hip pain this week, and also hope that Great Witches Baking Show is a good cozy- it’s a super fun title!
Thank you Victoria! It is wild we still have broccoli which was planted in November but it worked that way last year too. Broccoli really handles the cold well. I’m planting more this week for the spring planting. I’m glad to have the vaccine started and have some strategies to reduce my pain.
So happy to hear you got your first vaccine shot! And glad that there were no side effects. I get my second dose in a bout a week and will be so relieved. Like you, I’ll (finally) be making a dentist appt. once I’m fully vaccinated.
Yes! I won’t be going wild, going out all the time. And I will still wear a mask. But I will make some of these medical appts I put off last year.
That’s great news about the vaccine and it sounds like you didn’t have any side effects which is fab!
Yes I’m thrilled to have started the process.
