Meet cute...

Run for the hills—temporarily. That's Colbie Albright's plan when she flees New York for San Francisco. Wrangling her crazy family by day and writing a bestselling YA fantasy series by night has taken its toll. In short, Colbie's so over it that she's under it. She's also under the waters of a historic San Francisco fountain within an hour of arrival. Fortunately, the guy who fishes Colbie out has her looking forward to Christmas among strangers. But she's pretty sure Spencer Baldwin won't be a stranger for long.

Make merry...

Spence's commitment to hiding from the Ghosts of Relationships Past means he doesn't have to worry about the powerful—okay, crazy hot chemistry—he's got with Colbie. Just because she can laugh at anything, especially herself... just because she's gorgeous and a great listener just because she gets Spence immediately doesn't mean he won't be able to let Colbie go. Does it?

and hope for a miracle.

Now the clock's ticking for Colbie and Spence: Two weeks to cut loose. Two weeks to fall hard. Two weeks to figure out how to make this Christmas last a lifetime.

A short review to update challenges

OMG! I love this so, so much. I laughed. I cried. This is the classic Jill Shalvis I need. The entire Heartbreaker Bay series is excellent.

Karen White did an amazing job with the narration here. She intoned Colbie’s uncertainty about her own worth, her exhaustion/ frustration at always being the adult.   The Shalvis / White combo gave me all the feels. They are a pair I know will satisfy me.

I really enjoyed the main characters, Colbie and Spence. In spite of them having money, they were authentic as people with their own problems and flaws. They also had strength and compassion for others, making them well-suited as a couple.

This was a very good one! I adore Jill’s stories and this is perfect for the holidays. I didn’t listen, but I’ve enjoyed the Jill/Karen combo in her Animal Magnetism series.

    • yes it is! This was just a really quick review since Jennifer already reviewed it at TBN so I slipped it in here for my challenges. And it is such a favorite author! A nerdy guy is a win!
