The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received.

Stacking The Shelves is also a weekly meme hosted by  Tynga’s Reviews and Marlene from Reading Reality.  It’s all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.  The Series on Saturday giveaway ends tonight at midnight!

I started the week worried about health insurance for my daughter and happily that got sorted very well.  We also got word back from the YMCA and they will give us lower rates to be members so she can do her physical therapy.  This week we also got her college registration completed and she got into the class she wait-listed.  We only had two medical appointments.  Plus the chiropractor called and they got a new massage therapist we can try later this week.  So everything on the scheduling stuff is positive.

I read and worked on posts. Next week will be my Top 10 posts for 2018.  I got AMAZING stuff from publishers and some good sale items.   I’ve checked out several books on soups and have been collecting some recipes to try. Tonight I plan to make a Shrimp corn soup.   I’m still working on yarn storage documentation and haven’t found the skein of yarn which made me start the project.  No sewing this week yet either.

They finally came and sucked up all the leaves now the snow has melted. So I need to rake up more leaves down to the curb for the January pickup.  It’s supposed to be almost 60 F and sunny the next few days.   The upcoming week will be busy with at least one thing every day, followed by a quiet holiday week. We will tour the YMCA and try one yoga class and one water exercise class to see how we like those. There are also 4 medical appointments.

Friends on Friday:

So I’m looking for volunteers for my monthly Friends on Friday feature.  You can see examples of a post here.  The basic idea is one of my friends writes a review for something we haven’t reviewed and we share it on a Friday with link to your blog, then you post the review on your own blog over the upcoming week.  Please let me know if you would like to be featured some month, at BooksMyHeart@gmail.com.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week:

The Winter of the Witch                                        Summoned to Thirteenth Grave

Wild Country                                 Just My Type

Oh the publishers were so very good to me this week!  Thank you so much Penguin Random Audio, MacMillan Audio, Tantor Audio,  and AceRoc / Berkley Publishing.

Hazard                                                Red Stone Security 10-12                       The Name of the Wind

Naked Werewolf series

Nice Girls Don’t Date Dead Men

Even White Trash Zombies Get the Blues             One Good Dragon Deserves Another

So there were a bunch of good sales this week.  The Devon Monk book and Katie Reus box set were $0.99. Name of the Wind was an Audible daily deal.  I added to series I am collecting where the sale price was less than what I pay for a credit.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

If you like this and want to see me do the Sunday post, as often as I can manage, leave me a comment and let me know.

Anne

  1. Glad everything went well with the health insurance and the class registrations. It has been oddly warmer here in the 50’s this weekend with alot of rain. I’ll take that over the freezing cold and snow.
Enjoy your week and your books 🙂 Freebies are too tempting! lol

    • Thanks! I hope your weather stays warmer. Ours is usually warmer when it rains. The next couple days are sunny and almost 60!!! Perfect.

Yes the freebies are tempting. I was especially thrilled to get Maybe Now since it is book 2 and I have Maybe Someday Book1 on audio. Have a great week!

    • Yes overall things went well but it was tense while I was trying to get there. Now I feel I can take a breath.

I am sometimes shocked by the quality of freebies available. I read two this week and it was the full range. One was 2 and one was 4.5. Both were known to me authors who I had not yet read. I do LOVE when known authors put their first books in the series free so we can try them, especially romance ones which tend to be self contained story arcs. With fantasy or UF, the first book can be more difficult with learning the world and characters for a longer story arc.

  2. Glad the scheduling is going good and the Y worked out for the swim therapy. We got a couple mild days so I was able to get out and rake the fallen branches and last of the leaves from the ice we got a while back. Hope you end up finding that skein of yarn after all your hunting and organizing.

Oh yes, you did get some pretties for review and at the sales. The Molly Harpers look fun.

    Have a good week, Anne!

    • Yes, I’ve read all of Molly Harper but the Werewolf series and I know how great Amanda Ronconi is so I figured I’d get them. I was overjoyed at my ARC haul this week.

I hope I find it but it’s looking like I’ve really misplaced it. In my sewing last month though I found fabric I’d been looking for since I moved to NC 3.5 years ago, so I’ll get there.

I have to get out an rake again, more have fallen. It’s going to be nice at least. Enjoy your week!

    • I like Colleen Hoover too, but so emotional. I have to be in the right frame of mind. My review for All Your Perfects posted this afternoon. That one is a rollercoaster but it addresses the topic of communication in relationships which is SO critical.

It is new and old. It’s my winter banner which I started with last winter. The Harley one is for spring / summer. I have some ideas for another one which I may get to at some point. Enjoy your reads!

    • Thanks Yvonne. There were some really good freebies this week. I like all the Molly Harper books. I’ve listened to many on audio. I’ve read or listened to all the Nice Girls Don’t … but I haven’t tried the werewolf ones but now I have them all on audio so I’m ready to go. Thanks for visiting!

  3. I hope you find that skein of yarn soon! I am so glad that you were able to get your daughter’s insurance sorted out. It sounds like the YMCA will be a good fit for you. It sounds like you have a pretty busy week coming up. Enjoy all of your new books and have a great week!

    • That yarn is going to hide until it’s found in some odd place I think. But I’m not quite finished with the yarn documenting. I’m looking forward to doing some Y classes this week.

I hope you have an amazing week and get some time to read and relax.

  4. Oh my goodness! I didn’t even know there was a new Anne Buship Others book. You made my week! I read Maybe Now as she released each chapter on Watt pad. It took months, but it was good. Especially if you are a fan of Maybe Someday like I am. And lastly you sound like you stay so busy! I can’t imagine. Hope you find some time to relax this week.

    • The Anne Bishop book is an ARC to be released in March 2019.

Busy is good. As much as I like to read and cook great food I’d probably weigh 1000 pounds if I didn’t keep busy.

I hope you enjoy your reads this week!

  5. Audible had some great deals this last week. I bought some audios too. I also picked up some of the same freebies you did. Glad you got insurance figured out for your daughter and that she got into the class she was on the wait list for. Have a great week!

      • Angela

I know… I thought of a few others too, but I was the same way. I’ve got plenty to keep me entertained. ^_^

  6. Glad you had a nice week! And 60 degrees! That sounds pretty awesome right about now! Hope you’re having a wonderful holiday season.

I love that covr of Wild Country, and Luna New Moon looks interesting too.

    • Thanks. It’s middle 60s today and just gorgeous. I was back in flip-flops going to yoga class this morning.

I want to read Wild Country asap. I’m going to wait until January 1. The Others books are always a bit unexpected in the twists. You have a wonderful holiday the next few weeks and take a little time to read and relax!

One my goals next year is to read at least one Anne Bishop book and The Bear and the Nightingale.

    Have a wonderful week!
